MUSEUM<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

In 2012, during the celebrations organized for the company\u2019s centenary, the Museum of the Ferrovie Luganesi SA (FLP) was inaugurated on the ground floor of the Zampini House in Ponte Tresa.Completed with recently recovered objects and documents, the material gathered and collected in the past and previously exhibited on the first floor of the workshop in Agno, is now displayed on a surface of more than 80 square meters. Historical documents, plans, projects, vintage photographs, regulations, measuring instruments, machinery, working tools, train parts, alimentation systems and much more have been carefully selected and then handed over to the curator and former warehouse supervisor, Franco Corecco, who has cultivated a lifelong passion for the history of the railway.<\/p>\n

With this initiative the FLP means to highlight its history and to give everybody the possibility to discover a series of objects and facts which illustrate the development of the region during the last century, and show the determination with which, at the time, the railway was supported and promoted. In fact, its importance has been growing over the years, and it has become a more and more fundamental means of transport, helping, besides, to improve mobility in the lower Malcantone region.<\/p>\n

Obviously, a visit to the museum will be made more interesting by the presence of persons who know the company\u2019s history and who can give visitors a first-hand account. For this reason, we are planning openings of the exhibition enriched by the presence of now retired, former staff members. For our company the museum has an inestimable value, as a witness to the commitment of all those who campaigned in person to offer an essential service to the population of the lower Malcantone.<\/p>\n<\/div>

INFORMATIONS<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Located only 10 minutes on foot from the railway terminal station, and less than 5 minutes from customs, the museum is easily reachable. It is possible to book a visit to the FLP Museum on different opening days and at different times. For information, please contact the head office of the Ferrovie Luganesi SA (FLP).<\/p>\n

Open to the public on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 2 to 5 p.m., free of charge<\/b><\/span>.
<\/strong>Winter closure from November to March included.<\/b><\/p>\n
